My Story
Since my early days, I’ve always had an interest in video production. In high school, I taught myself how to shoot
and edit video using only what I had available. My freshman year of college, I created my first short film for the
Southwest Indiana Film Festival. During my senior year of college, I produced promos for clubs and activities that
could be played on the campus TV station, and after college I worked for a news station making commercials
and promos.
I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in Fall of 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio and Television
and a minor in Digital Video Production. Throughout college, I worked for the student Television station. My Senior year, I played a key part in
developing new shows for the station, and was responsible for directing, producing, and editing the station’s
two student run news programs Access USI and OnTheVerge.
Shortly after college, I started working CBS and FOX affiliate in town 44News. I started as a producer writing news stories and stacking morning newscasts then very quickly ended up in a new creative services opening. The position perfectly reflected my interests. I wrote, shot, and edited promos for the station and clients. I was also responsible for creating the templates for all the on-air graphics like lower thirds, show opens, or full-screens.
During covid I decided to move with my parents to Alabama. Where I worked a couple of freelance gigs around town and met my now wife. I was offered a job in the middle of the state as a Marketing Producer at WIAT. There I revamped their topical workflow, produced image promos, and POPs.
I now work at WTAE in Pittsburgh. I moved into this position after being recruited by the now CSD.
